From what I gather, Mr. Brown was a fine Classical guitar maker, and player, and he also played 4 and 5 string banjo
I have some of his work, that came to me thru an estate sale and I know little else about him

I also acquired what I believe to be the prototype
It has a wooden top tension hoop as well as the wooden flange, and is made of maple instead of rosewood.
Thats an old Framus neck on it, definitely the "mule" for designing the rosewood models
I also have 1 more rims and tone ring, I can see later he was going to try one piece flanges instead of the wood, which works but needs a few more supports since the rim is not beaded.
I'll do the 1 piece flange on the tenor

A view of the rim/tone ring/flange design
from one of the other rims I received.

All pieces fit very well together, the lathe work was VG

Rolled Rosewood rim is nice and solid

Tone ring is in VG condition
A very nice personal design, far from the mainstream, and that is where I prefer myself, to be.

Tenor Buildup Pics

Stripped the old finish , and am starting back up with clear.

Only a few coats and then steel wool, I want to hear this without a ton of lacquer on it

Nickel hardware.

Rootbeer is on the LATE shift

Matched it to the Recording King resonator and cut heel notch to check fit
Lag bolts with plain nuts holding it to rim, coordinator rods can be added easily if so desired.
The banjo sounds   good in CGDA, nice and clear, a lot of potiential showing up in the first setup
I would expect it to be good in GDAE as well.
