Refret - Refinish
Large dent in finish up the neck, looks like maybe the stand melted into it?
.040 wire is Howard's choice which translates to StewMacs #147
Stripping old urethane from resonator
I will use Instrument Lacquer on the refinish
ready to fine sand, then seal with 2 coats shellac.
Frets pulled, I'll will stiffen the slots up with some cyano, the
frets were fairly loose in the board
Slight leveling of board was nesessary, lots of valleys down low,
well played.
Sealing the frets with thin cyano before trimming the ends.
With the Rosewood pulled back so far, this aids the frets ability
to contact the tang with the fingerboard and makes for better tones
Many times dead frets are just loose, they look fine but...they
ain't.
All sealed ends trimmed, ready to level and polish out
Fretwork complete, now back to the resonator that has been taking
on clear coats.
All finished, and waxed with Renaissance wax.
Ready to go nack to work
Thanks for watching
