John's Accutone Workpage

Neck rework, thin profile

INITIAL PICS

John decided that it feels a little thick for his tastes, so I plan to reduced the back of the neck by a measure, to give him a slimmer profile on the backside.

Next to Rob's OME

Back apart

I wanted some shots of it to see the fade as i had it before I have to mess it all back up again!

Nothng like a belt sander to get things going!
No turning back now.

Profile reduced, ready for final shaping sanding

First Honey Amber tint wash.

Second, Golden Brown edge , handstop and heel fade

Third, Medium brown Full fade at heel and handstop

Taking on clear coats

Assembly

While I was buffing the neck, I decided to buff the resonator, I mean why not?
This is why...
Stepped too hard into the buffer and melted my finish on the side binding off.
I will try to overcome it, but it will mean a complete removal of both bindings and then recoloring them.
That wasn't something I was looking forward to, but "   " Happens.

Now I tried a skin on it, didnt like the tone, went back to what I do like on my Plectrums, and that is a Renesiannce.
I like the look  feel and sound.

Pickholder reinstalled

Resonator reshaded to match new neck finish

Final pics

Setup sounds VG to me, John will check it himself in Eureka, we will dial it in together.
