I DONE ALL THIS TODAY BEFORE I SAT DOWN AND READ YOUR EMAILS AFTER WE SAID LEAVE ALL STUFF ON IT

On this one....

The tell on a Vega factory conversion is that they got it right - except that the neck has modern ornamentation.
This has a modern Vega headstock, binding and dot markers as if it was a Wonder. That it is built on a Little Wonder pot...

I dont think this is no Vega made neck, but its pretty dang good
So heres what I did without guidance :)

All frets out to get to the copped board

Looks like someone made it in 1983 and initialed DHK
Dowel is stuck i tight but out a little from tenon hole but heel fit is tight, I didnt mess with it

Flat sanding the crap out of it, cupped bad

Ill go a little more, bout 1/3 of the fingerboard to get this far

Cleaning slots to fret

147 wire, one at a time, gluing as I go because board is brittle but good

Could'nt stand that inferior varnish, sticky to the touch  and yellowed out...cabinet paint ... so off it came
Also the red heel cap will be blackened
The center laminate is red as well, Vega never did that as far as I know.

Coat of sealer, now for some tint
I did smooth the profile a little but didn't shrink it, its doesnt feel any chunkier than any Vega 5 string

The chosen tints with a little burst at the heel and head

2 more coats to go
