I thought....for a Truett-George banjo..........what a tasteful touch
eh?
Action is at 4/32 at the 22, sweet.
MUTED TAILPIECE
This mute system /tailpiece
is awe inspiring, and for the talented player, a wonderful addition to
the instrument.
I feel it offers a much better
command of muting than either the standard Trujo, or the BD soft pedal
mutes.
There is a "Van Eps Recording"
banjo tailpiece which sort of emulates the tailpiece design but it was
not muted.
I have seen them on Russ
Prestings page, and it may be that he had them designed , or created
them himself, I do not have all of the facts when it comes to Trujo, but
it is not in the catalogs from the era.
MOP buttons polished, and strung with my own choice of strings
The armrest is of the 1920's Gibson Ball Bearing Mastertone style
2 piece, with large mounting bracket
This is Gibson using up "floor sweep parts" that were still in bins
even after designs were changed.
No waste!
The flange has to go up under the tailpiece bracket on this design
The difference on how a Gibson resonator mount works
and the Trujo, is sort of neat.
On a Gibson, the entire thumbscrew goes into
a lug in the resonator.
On the Trujo, they took the same bolt, cut
it off, reversed it and threaded it into the rim, tap drilled and tapped
the other end of the thread pattern and used it in reverse
BD SilverBell would have been good with this
mount!
I always keep this design in my mind to retrofit
for people needing mounts that are similar.

It is a NOTE CANNON now.....really responsive with a proper
setup
