Bacon and Day Montana No.1

22 fret plectrum
This banjo is a conversion, most likely from a tenor to a plectrum.
This was common place from the 1980s onwards with more of a demand for plectrums.

It has some No.4 enhancements such as engraved metal flange,  tone ring skirt ,tension hoop and arm rest.
There is much plating wear in the normal areas, it was a played instrument.
NOTE:
It also had an elaborately engraved No.4 celluloid resonator back that was completely degraded (gassed out) and not usable.
I made a back  by using a back plate out of a mahogany Gibson style resonator, and painted it to appear as a plain Montana 1 back.
If someone totally restored this banjo, and wished it as a No.4 then there are people that do such things.
11" rim
26" scale
Farquhar bridge
Oettinger tailpiece
ABM pegs
No mute
I just wanted to make it back into a good player.
I dressed up the fingerboard markers to appear bright again, cleaned it, and set it up.
Plays well on a good action.
Not a collectible or original, but is priced as a nice "players instrument" with years of service left in it.

Modern OHSC in GC
Extra hole in rim
Non-Original dowel
Slight finish checking by bolt
